Settling In, Smiles, and Morning Runs

Weekends in our new home have been a whirlwind, to say the least. The kids are slowly but surely finding their spots in this space, leaving their traces of laughter and energy in every corner. As they settled in, I found myself on a constant marathon of returns and shopping for all the home essentials. Curtains, rugs, and those little touches that turn a house into a home โ€“ they’re all on the checklist.

Our house is a canvas, and my husband has become quite the artist with his paintbrush. He’s tackling the kitchen and the closet next, adding his strokes of color to our blank spaces.

Last Sunday brought a different kind of adventure: the Navan County Fair. I decided to sign up Justine for a baby show, a cute little contest that promised to bring some smiles. I managed to nominate my husband as the presenter on stage. I’ve never been one to revel in the spotlight. And guess what? She walked away with the title of “Cutest Smile.”

My husband was so proud

Amidst all this chaos, there’s a constant I’m holding onto โ€“ my morning runs. Those peaceful moments of solitude, with the world just beginning to stir, have become my anchor. It’s like hitting the reset button for the day ahead.

Check out all the moving boxes around me

Speaking of goals, I’ve been toying with a new one. A little teaser โ€“ I’ll spill the details in my next post. Right now, life is a balancing act. I’m juggling home, workouts, and an online class that’s a constant on my to-do list. But here I am, typing away in those precious moments when my hands are free, thanks to my husband taking Justine on a grocery run.

Stay tuned, because there’s more to come.

Until then, take care!
