My Fitness Journey Update

Hey everyone,

Currently, I’ve set my sights on training for the Somersault’s Embrace Winter Run half-marathon in February. Although I haven’t signed up yet, it’s on my weekend to-do list. Presently, I’m steadily running a 5k almost every day, and I’m gearing up to push those distances further come Monday. However, with the darker mornings, I might be shifting my runs to the evenings โ€“ I’m not particularly courageous in the dark, to be honest!

This morning at 5:30am.
Those are my coming and going tracks from my departure and arrival from my run.

When I’m not running, you can find me at the gym every other day, focusing on developing my glutes and working on that persistent mommy tummy. I even got myself a running stroller, hoping Justine could join me on runs. I tested it out yesterday, and she wasn’t a fan; it might have been how I set it up or maybe it was just too uncomfortable for her. I’ll try again tomorrow and see if she finds it more cozy.

She did not seem too comfortable in there!

Today, I had a chat with a personal trainer at my gym. He advised me to start eating more, focusing on the calories I consume versus the calories I burn. Admittedly, I’m a bit lost about where to start in understanding the nuances of food and nutrition, but I’m incredibly proud of my progress so far. A few months ago, I hit a wall and felt a bit disheartened. But lately, I’m realizing that it’s perseverance that’s truly paying off. I vividly remember thinking that ‘mom pouch’ was here to stay, but I’m thrilled to share that my stomach muscles are stronger, and my stomach is finally flat again.

Feeling amazing!

I’ve decided it’s time to delve deeper into the world of nutrition and bodybuilding. This morning, I popped by Popeyes Supplement store and got chatting with a girl prepping for a bikini fitness competition.

It’s something that piqued my interest, but I’ll dive into that world once Justine’s done nursing. I’m a tad apprehensive, considering I hope to have one more child, and pregnancy tends to put me out of commission. Hopefully, next time around, my fitness journey won’t have to pause completely. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

She was breaking down the different protein powders and I was completely lost!!

All this to say is that life is pretty amazing, and I’m enjoying every bit of it!

Stay tuned for more updates. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’ช
